I too must discourage this sort of ridiculous farting around. I wonder how many women have tried this sort of crud and ended up missing out on great relationships because the guy just gave up?

Don't be easy, don't be overly hard, in fact, I'd suggest not even trying in the first place. Go out a lot, spend a lot of time with groups of friends who bring in other friends and so on, go to social events that would attract the type of person you're interested in... but for all of that, don't try to pick up or to be picked up, just enjoy your time there with the people there. If, as things progress you feel you'd like further contact with someone you've spent time with during the event, then yeah, exchange details (just an email address if you want to be 'safe'), and follow on from there.

Just don't play these ridiculous games.

It's not just women who play this game. I've come across enough fellas who fuck about like this. It's hilarious to watch.
